What We’re Reading on the Web

As usual, we’ve read the Internet cover-to-cover and rounded up some of the most interesting reads out there for your perusal. Enjoy!

After a slow week that this editor can only assume was due to Tryptophan-induced writers block, the internet is back and better than ever, and perhaps most importantly, chock-full of excellent reads and looks. Without further ado:

Let’s start in our own neighboorhood. Find it in Fondren has a great piece up on Dr. Scott Crawford’s Lego Jackson and the return of the building blocks version of our fair city to the Mississippi Arts Center. It’s incredible.

Since we’re already looking at and talking about incredible images – how about these shadow sculptures made from discarded wood, welded scrap metal, broken tools, cigarette packets, soda cans, and piles of trash?

I’m sure there’s a more eloquent transition to be had, but after you’ve looked at trash sculptures, take a look at the stunning homes of some of America’s favorite athletes!

Speaking of real estate: Japan’s young architects’ fascination with creatively-designed housing (fun fact: Japan has the most registered architects per capita!) knows no bounds. This piece from ArchDaily takes a look at whether or not there’s more to this eccentric design craze than meets the eye.

And last but not least, we present: gingerbread art museums! No, really. Check these out.
