Fondren Unwrapped Wrap-Up: Look Up, Fondren

Today’s post comes from CDFL’s own Chris Myers, one of the architects (I know, I know) of Look Up, Fondren. This is his wrap-up of the event.

As hundreds of people milled around Fondren Unwrapped enjoying their cozy winter drinks and complementary snacks, the Entergy substation stood by and silently rotated through a 20-minute routine designed by Stephen Barnette of Davaine Lighting. Many who “looked up” that night in Fondren admitted they had never noticed the structure, and because of the attention it garnered, we are calling the first installment of Look Up, Fondren a resounding success.

We would like to thank Entergy Mississippi, Davaine Lighting, and Fondren Rennaissance for all of their help. Without them, none of this would have been possible. As for the future of the project, we are looking into funding possibilities for a permanent installation that would allow us to illuminate the Fondren skyline each and every night.

Special thanks to Scott Bradfield, Aaron Phillips, and Frank Farmer for allowing us to use the incredible images of the installation they captured.
