Meet The Team: Dennis Schwarzauer

Each week we’ll introduce a member of the CDFL team, or as we like to think of ourselves, the “us” in the Power of Plus. This week we are proud to introduce intern architect Dennis Schwarzauer.

What unique attributes do you bring to the CDFL team?

I wouldn’t say anything I do is unique as each employee here is multi-talented. Over the course of my career I’ve been exposed to a wide variety of architectural elements including different clientele and different management styles. I think this allows me to bring a broader perspective to the team.

What would surprise us most about your job?

Probably the same thing that surprises me about my job, which is that it’s always changing and evolving. Each job and project is unique. Each client brings a set of wants and needs and we are charged with delivering a product that meets those desires.

What is the best thing about working at CDFL?

I’ve known some of the people I work with since college. The employees here are a fun group, but I also enjoy the interactions we have with our clients, many of whom we have a longterm relationship with.

What do you spend the most time doing outside of work?

I love being outdoors whether it’s gardening, bicycling, or reading in my hammock. I also love traveling – there’s so much I want to see.

What’s the last movie you saw?

American Hustle, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

How long have you worked for CDFL? How long have you been in the profession?

I’ve been at CDFL for 11 years and this will be my 30th year in the profession.

What is your favorite lunch spot in the neighborhood?

My desk, or the roof of our building. While there are a lot of wonderful restaurants in Fondren, my wife is a great cook & I prefer eating lightly at lunch to save room for our evening meal. I do occasionally enjoy a sandwich from Basil’s or a chocolate malt from Brent’s.
