What We’re Reading on the Web

What-Were-Reading-e1432305796156 (4).jpg

As usual, we’ve read the Internet cover-to-cover and rounded up some of the most interesting reads out there for your perusal. Enjoy!

Winner of the Museum of Modern Art and MoMA PS1’s Young Architects Program, this interview features principal David Benjamin of The Living giving details on his firm’s victorious entry. The contest gives emerging architectural talents the opportunity to compete for the chance to build a temporary structure in PS1’s courtyard in Long Island City, Queens. The Living’s winning entry? A sustainable structure made of mushrooms and corn stalks.

The purveyors of the Power of Plus were very excited to read about the History of the Plus Sign.

A very cool video on the design process and “How to Think Like An Architect” from Barry Berkus.

These haunting images from Dutch photographer Niki Feijen are a beautiful and eerie look at abandoned buildings, homes, and more. They’re mesmerizing.

This last link is a repeat, but we’ve got World Cup fever around here and thought this link needed to be re-shared. What could be better than a soccer AND architecture link? Nothing! (…except for making it past the round of sixteen) Check out the twelve stadiums of the World Cup, courtesy of Architectural Digest.

Happy weekend, happy reading, and go team!
