Dirtt Factory Tour

Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, DIRTT (Doing It Right This Time) Environmental Solutions is a leader in creating sustainable and customizable interiors. Their reconfigurable walls and customizable millwork allow spaces to grow as spaces change and unforeseen challenges are encountered. Recently, several members of the CDFL team visited the headquarters.

“DIRTT solutions are more about minor flexibility and not future relocation and reconfiguration–it’s about being adaptable to changing technologies, add-ons, and other unexpected design challenges,” said architect Mike Reese.

The team was able to join in a one-on-one work session with the DIRTT installation team which, according to architect Colby Dearman, was one of the highlights of the trip. “I thought the one-on-one work session with the installation team was very helpful and interesting. It helped me understand how the product was assembled and the logistics of the components,” he added.

Interior Designer Katie Jo Collins also toured the facility and was impressed with DIRTT integrating power in their systems, “This could be a major cost saver if planned from the initial stages,” said Collins.
