YMCA Vicksburg

The Vicksburg YMCA project is both a renovation and expansion project for the existing William K. Purks Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi. New construction totals 20,669 SF and is designed to match and mimic the existing architecture on the exterior. Simultaneously, the interior of the building complements the existing facility with a modern and fresh approach. Additionally, the interior renovated space helps bring the current facility up to date and accommodates new programs and client needs. The renovation impacts 15,413 SF of space, not including the exterior upgrades, new roadway, and parking lot with increased capacity. The new facility provides the client's needed square footage and blends with the old with new to create a comprehensive complex.

The YMCA program includes a large-scale fitness center for functional training, multipurpose gymnasium with basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts, restrooms, a classroom for camp program space, kitchen, storage, program/ flex rooms, and lobby renovation.

The project was conducted in phases to allow the continued operation of the current building during construction. This created unique challenges but allowed the YMCA to continue to run throughout the duration of the project.
