Word of Life - Poindexter Campus

Located in the heart of Jackson on Capitol Street, World of Life Church - Poindexter Campus underwent a massive interior renovation. With a comprehensive scope, the renovation encompassed a multitude of enhancements, spanning from aesthetic upgrades to functional improvements. Key features included:

  • New Finishes: The renovation introduced all-new finishes throughout the church interior. This included the installation of wood flooring on the stage and lobby areas, as well as a black and white traditional pattern on the sanctuary floor.

  • Millwork and Paint: New millwork was meticulously crafted to match the existing design elements. Additionally, both interior and exterior surfaces received repairs, patching & fresh coats of paint, to revitalize the space.

  • Stained Glass Preservation: Integral to the church’s heritage, broken and original stained glass windows were carefully replaced. Furthermore, leaded glass with milky glass inserts were incorporated into three front windows, preserving the traditional aesthetic.

  • Stage and Millwork Addition: The stage, columns, and back wall underwent a significant transformation, including cladding and columns and back walls in the sanctuary with wood & dental molding to match existing woodwork.

  • Terrazzo and Wainscot: Terrazzo flooring was cleaned and preserved in the office and meeting spaces attached to the main sanctuary. A large format stone look tile wainscot was added below the existing wooden chair rails in the sanctuary. These additions not only added visual appeal but also ensured durability and ease of maintenance.

  • Renovated Vestibule: The vestibule received a thoughtful renovation, creating an inviting entry point that sets the tone for worship and fellowship.

  • Lighting Upgrades: Lighting played a crucial role in enhancing ambiance and functionality. Four focal pendants replaced existing ceiling fans in the sanctuary. Decorative light fixtures were also added to the lobby area.

  • Sound and Light Control Booth: The balcony, formerly used as a choir loft, was repurposed into a sound and light control booth. This transformation optimizes space utilization and improves operational efficiency during services and events.

  • Bathroom Renovations: Existing bathrooms were brought up to code and renovated to enhance accessibility, functionality, and aesthetics, ensuring the comfort and convenience of worshippers and visitors.

  • Furniture and Equipment: Existing pews were repositioned and upholstered. Furniture was provided for various areas, including the office, lounge, and green rooms, enhancing comfort and functionality while maintaining the cohesive design aesthetic.
