Pearl Public Safety Complex

The Pearl Public Safety Complex is a facility of approximately 35,000 square feet located near existing administration offices in the City of Pearl, Mississippi. The building will house the Pearl Police Department as an upgrade from their current headquarters nearby in a former school building. Upgrades include a gym, evidence storage space, and a home for the 911 call center.

The public sector of the building includes a Justice Courtroom, as well as a Juvenile Courtroom, with associated spaces such as counselor offices, holding cells for those awaiting hearings, and a court services office where citizens can pay fines.

A relatively large site allows for ample parking on court days and provides police vehicles easy access in and out, in cases of emergency. A service building behind the main facility will allow minor repairs and maintenance on squad vehicles to take place near the station.

This project is part of an ongoing design/build partnership with Benchmark Construction that, as of March 2014, has produced six county jails throughout the state of Mississippi, with several more in the works.
