CDFL provided architectural design services for a new 19,500 SF Grounds & Maintenance Building at the University of South Alabama, creating a centralized operations hub for the university’s Grounds and Landscape Department. Constructed within an existing parking lot, the pre-engineered metal building includes 5,250 SF of conditioned office space and 14,250 SF of unconditioned storage to support daily landscape and maintenance operations.

The facility features nine management offices, a flexible breakroom and kitchen, showers and lockers for field staff, and dedicated storage areas for irrigation equipment, construction materials, and hazardous materials. Secure storage enclosed by chain-link fencing provides additional space for landscape equipment and supplies. Designed to improve operational efficiency, the building provides a functional, durable environment that supports both administrative staff and field crews. The final construction cost also reflects parking lot upgrades.
