Coulter Hall Renovation - The University of Mississippi

Originally constructed in 1977, Coulter Hall serves as the home of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Mississippi. The 100,000-square-foot facility contains teaching and research laboratories, classrooms, and a fully equipped machine shop that includes glassblowing equipment for departmental research use.

In 2015, CDFL, in joint venture with Eddy Barlow Jenkins, completed a major renovation that expanded the building’s teaching and research capacity. The project introduced new laboratory spaces, an additional teaching center accommodating up to 200 students, and renovated existing student teaching laboratories and support areas. The renovation included 13 teaching laboratories and 7 classrooms designed to foster collaboration and hands-on learning.

In 2021, CDFL returned to the facility to lead a pipe replacement project addressing severe erosion caused by the long-term discharge of hazardous chemicals within the piping systems.
