St. Catherine’s Village
The original multi-phased CDFL project, produced from 1989 to 2000, is the most comprehensive Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in the State of Mississippi. Included in the fully master-planned 160 acre site are over 250,000 SF of studio and one or two bedroom suites within the independent living complex; an assisted living wing with support services; an accredited nursing care facility; and a memory residence facility. The complex also includes a man-made lake, chapel, indoor swimming pool, and commercial grade kitchen.
The Neo-traditionalist style of the architecture evokes a resort-like atmosphere, with terracotta colored tiled roofs and a warm, inviting architectural vernacular. The Village’s setting and landscaping created a standard for subsequent developments in Madison. The facilities and services are designed to enhance the lifestyle of the residents and promote choice.
Our firm was honored to provide additional services to St. Catherine’s in 2008 and 2009. CDFL redesigned an existing piazza with a new activity room for dining, dancing, lectures, and performances. The existing space was renovated into a cyber cafe, library and game room. Three luxury living units were added above the new activity room, each with two bedrooms and scenic views of the lake. CDFL has also been involved with design of the Marian Hall Entrance renovation and addition, which redirected the entrance and allowed for future building movement. Most recently CDFL has completed the new skilled nursing facility Tuscany Hall.
