Purdue University Bittinger Stadium
A new replacement softball stadium for Purdue University, the third CDFL athletic project at Purdue’s Northwest Athletic Complex, was completed in February 2015. The stadium features 974 grandstand seats as well as 34 club-level seats in the press box suites.
Included in the project are a spacious team clubhouse; an indoor training facility; and a press box with full media, broadcast, and game-day operations facilities. All fan concessions and restroom amenities are located on the concourse directly behind the seating, preventing spectators from ever having to leave the action.
The lighted ballpark is linked to an existing pedestrian mall serving the baseball stadium, Alexander Field, and the Boilermaker Soccer Complex. Traditional building materials of brick masonry, cast stone, ground-face block and standing seam roofing blend with the Complex’s previously established design vocabulary.
