Purdue University Alexander Field
Alexander Field, a new Big Ten Conference intercollegiate stadium, became the home of Boilermaker baseball beginning with the 2013 season. A part of Phase I of the Northwest Athletic Complex at Purdue University, the venue features approximately 1,600 permanent seats including 512 with chair backs. Seating on the popular grass berm along the left field line pushes the total capacity to nearly 2,000. Space has also been set aside for additional bleachers to be added to the concourse during postseason contests.
Located down the left field line, Alex’s Clubhouse houses Purdue’s team locker room, an indoor hitting facility, a team meeting room and a sports medicine room. The two-story press box has full media, game operations, and broadcast facilities as well as two suites. Fans never leave the action, as concessions are located on the concourse in full view of the bluegrass blend field.
The project also incorporates a pedestrian plaza linking baseball with a new soccer venue and new parking areas. Television production and satellite truck facilities connect to pre-wired television camera and video fly-pack positions.
Alexander Field had a record crowd of 2,369 in 2018.
