CDFL is continuing its work with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Mississippi State University through Phase 2 of the Patterson Hall renovation. Building on the upgrades completed in Phase 1, this phase focuses on revitalizing the remaining Mechanical Engineering spaces on the first floor.

Phase 2 includes the creation of five new industry labs designed to strengthen collaboration between students, faculty, and industry partners. The work also replaces aging HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to improve efficiency and performance throughout the facility. In addition, the renovation introduces a dedicated Wudu Ritual Foot Wash Trough to support inclusivity and accommodate diverse student needs.

As with previous work, CDFL continues to partner with the Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) to ensure all updates respect the building’s historic fabric while providing a modern, functional environment for teaching and research.
