What We’re Reading on the Web

As usual, we’ve read the Internet cover-to-cover and rounded up some of the most interesting reads out there for your perusal. Enjoy!

The amount of office layout articles we share is borderline insane, but in our defense – there are some really cool things happening in workplace design. With studies indicating that natural light and the presence of plants can have a major effect on productivity, people are getting pretty creative when it comes to bringing in the sunshine. Here are six offices that are basically parks.

This link is a little old, and the World Cup is almost over, but we couldn’t skip sharing this. Check out the best use of stadiums we’ve seen the entire tournament— and yes, we’re including all of the incredibly competitive, high-level soccer we watched.

Writer, architect, and teacher Mark Goulthroupe of MIT is trying to reinvent the way students are thinking about designing and constructing buildings of the future.

Few things in life are as tough as a work week that follows a long weekend. So while this link on 10 Tricks to Appear Smart in Meetings is too late for this week’s appointments, file it away for the next time you’re in need of some assistance…or more likely, a laugh.

And finally, after this long week, we hope that you’re able to enjoy a little relaxation. We assume it won’t be in conditions as spectacular as these, so here’s some artistic pool eye candy from Architectural Digest to gaze at while you’re relaxing at the community swimming hole.

Here’s hoping these links make your post-long weekend work week a little brighter. Happy reading!
