Meet the Team: Steve Kinney
CDFL Architects + Engineers, P.A. is growing, and we are excited to announce that Steve Kinney has joined our team as a Quality Control Architect!
What do you do at CDFL?
I’ll be performing Quality Control review for CDFL projects and assisting in establishing checklists, reviewing details and specifications. Plus helping wherever possible.
What exciting things are you working on right now?
Establishing the Quality Assurance/Quality Control standards for the company.
What have you learned so far working at CDFL?
It’s only been 10 days since starting with the company, so it’s not an easy answer. Mainly that I still have a lot to learn and that I’m looking forward to doing it with CDFL.
What’s your favorite TV show?
I really do not have a favorite. Right now, the old Perry Mason tv series, with a dash of Ghosts (US version, sitcom), and whatever series looks interesting.
What do you spend the most time doing outside of work?
My wife and I enjoy sporting clay shooting, fly fishing (something new, just started), kayaking (flat water), and hunting season (the peace and quiet of the woods more than anything). Prior to Covid, my wife and I both liked traveling, taking photos and doing art shows together with our photography.
What's the last movie you saw?
A movie based on Agatha Christies’ “Crooked House”. It was different. “Mr. Holmes” was before that. It was much better than I thought it would be and a very interesting mystery.
What’s your favorite lunch spot in the neighborhood?
Home. What you want is always available and much quieter.
If you hadn't gone to architectural school, what would you have wanted to do?
Probably would have gone into geology, geotechnical sciences.
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
Nowhere in particular, as long as it’s the forest. If I had to choose it would be the smoky mountains, lots to do and see.
