Meet The Team: Mandy Carroll

Each week we’ll be introducing one of our new CDFL employees, or as we like to think of ourselves, the “us” in the Power of Plus. This week we are proud to introduce the newest member of our administration team Mandy Carroll.

What do you do at CDFL?

I provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office. A few of my daily duties include answering the company phone, greeting clientele, scheduling meetings, researching and keeping files up to date. I work closely with Tracy Hall, our Office Coordinator in creating support documents for the files related to ongoing and new projects. I’m also the go-to for setting up Lunch and Learns for the architects to receive CEUs, which so far is one of my favorite duties here.

What unique attributes do you bring to the CDFL team?

I believe I bring real passion and energy to this role. I have a strong desire to help others and develop as a professional. My attitude has always been that if I am going to do something, I should put every effort into it, in order to succeed. Also, I’m a dedicated team player. I am always willing to help out where I am needed. I thrive in a team environment and fully believe a team that is communicating well will be the most productive and successful. I can also add that I am able to work under pressure. This job requires someone that can multitask and work across several projects at once, with regular deadlines throughout the year.

How long have you worked in the industry?

I’ve worked in office support since 1998, but this is my first time working in the architectural world. It’s quite different from the places I have worked in the past, but most definitely a positive change. So, as I answer this question today, I have worked in the industry for 6 weeks and 3 days.

What is your favorite lunch spot in the neighborhood?

There are quite a few to choose from and it is hard to choose just one favorite! So far my top meal has been the “Grits and Grillades” from Rooster’s, which is two fried chicken tenders on a bed of cheese grits, and smothered in the restaurant’s famous Creole tomato gravy. YUM!!!

What’s your favorite TV show?

I just finished watching the first season of The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. It was scary but very entertaining and I hope there is a second season!

What do you spend the most time doing outside of work?

Since I am new to the Jackson Metro area, I like to explore the city and all the options for shopping and dining. I also travel back to Carroll County, where I am from originally, to visit with my family. My boyfriend and I enjoy music and hopefully we will be able to check out some concerts at Duling Hall soon.

What is the best thing about working at CDFL?

I can honestly say that this is hands-down the best team I have ever had the privilege of being a part of on a daily basis. Transitioning to a new city and new company was a lot less stressful than I could have ever imagined. Each one of my colleagues has treated me with respect and kindness. The Fondren community is such a hip and lively place, so for the office to be located here is also a wonderful perk! And let me not forget to mention that having every other Friday off from work is pretty awesome. I truly feel so happy and blessed to be a CDFL team member.

What’s the last movie you saw?

The last movie I watched in a theater was The Batman Lego Movie. I don’t go out to watch many movies, but I do watch plenty at home. I love a good horror/scary movie, so I just recently re-watched The Conjuring 2.
