Meet The Team: Jackie Smithers
Each week we’ll introduce a member of the CDFL team, or as we like to think of ourselves, the “us” in the Power of Plus. This week we are proud to introduce architect Jackie Smithers.
What would surprise us most about your job?
The most surprising thing about my job is probably the variety of things that I do on each project. I also see variety in the programs I use on a daily basis – both change pretty often.
What do you do at CDFL?
That is a difficult question! My official title is “intern architect” but I do a variety of things depending on the day. I work on construction drawings, construction administration, and build computer models. One really interesting thing I do is create renderings to show our clients realistic images of what their project will look after construction.
I am also on the committee organizing CDFL’s transition into Revit, a 3D rendering program new to our organization. Additionally, I organize and schedule Lunch and Learns which, surprisingly, takes more coordination and planning than you might think.
How long have you worked for CDFL?
I started working at CDFL right after I graduated from Mississippi State in 2009.
What is your favorite lunch spot in the neighborhood?
My favorite spot is Sal and Mookie’s. I love their pizza slice lunch special!
What’s your favorite TV show?
Well, I’m not sure if it counts as a TV show but the NFL Redzone Channel is a must during football season!
