Best Blog of 2015
“Year in Review” blog posts are one of the best parts of transitioning into a new year, (right on up there with Pantone’s Color of the Year reveal – something that we in the design world take very seriously) and that’s why we like to end our year with a roundup of some of our favorite blog posts. It’s been a good year, and we hope you enjoy reflecting on some of 2015’s big hits with us. Happy New Year, and happy reading.
10. 250th Blog Post
Our blog made its debut in June of 2013, so we’re really proud to have reached this milestone a little over two years later. This blog post was also special because we shared some big news about CDFL Sports and one of our newest jobs: pre-planning and design services for a potential new on-campus football stadium at the University of South Alabama.
9. Design Inspiration: Lori Willis
This was a great glimpse into interior designer Lori Willis’ design process and inspiration for a project at the VA Medical Center.
8. Power of Plus: The Video
This year we added graphic designer Trey Vann to our team, and his talents really took our marketing production capabilities to the next level. This branding video is one of the first things we did after adding this new dimension to our marketing repertoire.
7. Museum Update
Being part of the nation’s first ever state-funded civil rights museum and its sister museum, which will cover Mississippi history, is something for which we are incredibly honored. We’ve chronicled our journey in several spots on the blog, but this was a particularly big step in the construction process. Stay tuned for more where this came from in 2016!
6. Women in Architecture, Part II
While this blog post’s counterpart was technically published in 2014, the follow up published in 2015 was one of the year’s best reads.
5. Highland Village: Before + After
This project was one of the year’s most dramatic renovations, and these gorgeous pictures are a testament to the unbelievable transformation of one of Jackson’s most recognizable sites.
4. Branding Through Design
Interior designer Katie Jo Chane gives some insight into her design process, and how an interior can more effectively communicate an organization’s branding and ideals.
3. Architecture: A Love Story
We celebrated Valentine’s Day with a tribute to our most beloved structures.
2. Holiday Extravaganza 2015
These posts will always get a Best of the Blog shout out because it’s 1) the most wonderful time of the year, and 2) a really fun glimpse into some of the personalities behind the Power of Plus. Here’s Part 1, Holiday Trivia; Part II, Wish List Vol. 1; and Part III, Wish List Vol. 2
1. CDFL Survival Kit
One of our most fun and visually stunning blog posts of the year was a peek into what we keep on our desks, in our pockets, and on our devices.
