Keesler Air Force Base
CDFL’s work at Keelser AFB spans 12 years and encompasses over 500,000 sf. Projects include Katrina Package 11, two technical training facilities, and a vehicle operations facility. CDFL provided a full range of design and engineering services for all projects.
The Katrina Package 11 project included the construction of three facilities: a Training Aids Facility, new Post Office and new Fire Crash Rescue Facility. These projects total over 94,000 sf and $45 million in construction.
The 738th Vehicle Operations Facility is a replacement structure of the existing Operation Facility for Keesler Air Force Base. The old structure was demolished to make room for the new Technical Training Facility Development. This project consists of two components, the Vehicle Operations Facility and the Personal Vehicle Storage Facility.
Home of the 81st Training Wing of the U.S. Air Force, the Technical Training Facility contains the new Technical Training Complex. It houses training support areas for flight education, advanced communication and computer systems, support offices and support areas for the commander and administration. The facility was designed to accommodate varied and changing training requirements in the field of avionics to include radar and satellite systems, flight simulators, combat controllers, and air traffic control.
The Technical Training Support Facility’s main role is to serve as support for the Technical Training Command as well as the community center for troops housed in the Triangle Area.
