Hancock Whitney Stadium Master Plan

When the University of South Alabama set out to establish an on-campus football experience, CDFL Sports led the comprehensive master planning effort that shaped the vision for what would become Hancock Whitney Stadium. The plan guided site selection, circulation, and future expansion opportunities, ensuring the new facility would serve as both a gameday destination and a year-round community anchor.

CDFL’s master plan focused on creating a cohesive campus experience - one that connected athletics, academics, and student life. The plan emphasized accessibility, fan engagement, and multipurpose flexibility, resulting in a layout that accommodates major collegiate events, community programming, and campus gatherings.

The design framework also provided strategies for phased growth, parking and transportation planning, and integration of support facilities such as athletic administration, student success spaces, and premium hospitality areas. This forward-looking approach established the blueprint for a vibrant, sustainable, and connected athletics corridor at the heart of South Alabama’s campus.
