Baylor University Getterman Stadium
Picturesque Getterman Stadium, the women’s softball facility for Baylor University, is one of the four facilities included in the Turner Riverfront Complex. CDFL completed Getterman along with Baylor Ballpark in March of 2000, thereby establishing the design vocabulary for the later-built tennis and soccer venues.
The stadium seats 1,231 spectators under a fully roofed grandstand of brick masonry and exposed steel. Spectator and team amenities include concessions, public restrooms, retail sales, player dugouts, player restrooms. The stadium also boasts an air-conditioned press box, two broadcast booths, a VIP booth and game operations booth. The CDFL team also designed the landscaped pedestrian mall that traverses all of the facilities in the complex, complete with 2 large Baylor logos bricked into the sidewalk.
Getterman Stadium was named after Baylor graduates Ted and Sue Getterman in 2000 by the Baylor Athletic Department. The generous Getterman donation is recognized as the largest single donation ever to Baylor women’s athletics. The stadium has hosted games during the 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2009 NCAA Softball Championships.
