The University of Mississippi Galtney Center for Academic Computing

The Galtney Center for Academic Computing is the end result of a complete interior and exterior renovation of the two-level structure formally known as Weir Hall.

The first floor houses the core components for the Galtney Center for Academic Computing, consisting of IBM and MAC seminar rooms, administrative offices, student and professor computer help desks, 24 hour “coffee café” and the Student Computing Center that is commonly called the “virtual library.” The second floor houses the administration offices, two existing classrooms and two new classrooms for Computer Science.

In addition to the building renovation, a separate project renovated all of the property surrounding Weir Hall. Landscaped plazas visually connect the building to the Library, the Trent Lott Leadership Institute and “Library Loop.”
